More!

Christmas is coming! That means the end of this semester is approaching. In fact, we have to take the final exam week or two. Now, I'm feeling glad that I could take the computer class because what I learned was very useful for our university life and making a web page is a great fun. However, If we had time more, I wanted to know more about computer. For example, I want to know how I can publish the web page I made or I don’t understand how the Microsoft Outlook is useful. Especially, even I don’t understand how to use Microsoft Outlook however; I tried it once in my home. But still it is mysterious to me what the difference between the normal e-mail and outlook is. Since there is little time remaining for the class, maybe I should find the information in the holidays.

extra class

This week, I had an extra class on Wednesday about how to use i-tunes. I didn’t know how to use i-tune, so I signed-upp to take part in it. There were a few people and some students came from our sister school. Anyway, our teacher taught us the basic way of using i-tune. Since I’m using Windows computer at home, I have done making my own CD or make a library in a computer using windows Media Player. But I was amazed that i-tune can synchronize with i-pod. That is, a song in i-tune on the computer can be sent to i-pod without put music to peripheral disk. That’s wonderful!!! Now, I don’t have i-pod, it’s not likely that what I learned in the extra class will be useful right away. However, I heard that lots of American students have i-pod in a university. So, maybe I will buy it and use the knowledge in a soon future.

Future Compouter

This week, in Human Geography class, I learned that a language continues to change all the time. Nothing can remain as the same. And computer technology is also stay changing. Computer has progressed greatly during the decade. I can’t imagine exactly what the computer would be in the future. But this time, let me talk about it.
One thing I expect about the computer is that it will be able to speak. I’m not sure about the up-to-date personal computer and it might already possible for blind people. But if a computer can understand the user’s command from his/her voice, that person don’t have to type. What we need to do is only to say what he/she wanna do. I think tha’s gonna be cool !!
The another is that computer can understand the language system. Now you can translate the text by using internet service. However the computer’s translation is not perfect, it is very strange. So I hope that we can enjoy foreign web pages more comfortably.
Computer is incredible so that even the five years from now, it will look like very different thing from today’s one. Who’s tip will be right?

This week, the topic is free, so I gonna write about the thing that I realized the In ternet is really great. About two years ago, I found a book which collected a normal person’s blogs. He is living in Baghdad and the blogs about his days in Iraq during the war. I can’t prove whether he is actually living in Iraq or not. But not everyone who visit his blog might belives what he wrote. Some people might argue that he is that telling a lie. However I decided to believe his words because things that are written seams really true. Through the screen of a computer I could know the true feelings of one of the local Iraqis. He, himself can get into hard situation if his location was revealed. But he is courageous enough to send the message to outside world which people in another country don’t come to know just with newspaper or TV of their countries. Like this Internet has enabled us to get many things not only enjoyment such as mail and Internet surfing, but the things really important. As the battlefield has exited in very far place from the one lives, there need to be something that links people and actual battlefield.

Hi ! Now, I'm not feeling well since I have caught a cold two days ago. Take care in this transition season.
I have visited several of blogs of my classmates which is also in the bloggers.com. Some students uses beautiful photograph or looks yummy photograph. Like me, the pictures are sometimes irrelevant to the story, but it is beautiful and reflect the writer’s personality.
In a content of their blogs, some of them are funny!! ….yeah, I should be more casual. Although the tpivc for our group’s blog is same every week, each blogs look like quite different. That’s interesting. Also, I could knew some news around computers from my friends’ blog. Then I felt like……

Anyway, even though our blogs are not the usual one, blog may be very interedting communication way with friends.

Now, I'm using a latop of dynabook which is made by TOSHIBA. I didn‘t name it, but surely it would my important friend during my days inn the United States. Since I startd living in a far away place from my home, computer has become a valuable tool in my school life because I need to type my assignments and research for papers. I’m not going to buy a new laptop near future because I bought my computer this April and it is a huge shopping for me. However, if I have a chance to buy a new one, I want to get “Qosmio G20” which is made by also TOSHIBA. The reason I choose that maker is same as I bought the one this year, that is, TOSHIBA has a center which repair a computer in America. So I don’t have to wait my computer to come back from Japan when I asked them to fix it even when I’m in America. I prefer that model because I can watch a TV on that computer. The CPU is Pentium, memory included is 1GB !! Since the drive can write DVD, I can make DVD from the TV program. It’s fantasticThe monitor is 17 type, I can enjoy my favorite music video in a wide screen! Additionally, it has blue-tooth inside the computer, so when the blue-tooth mouse came into stores, that laptop would be more fashionable one. Anyway that’s the computer I want in the future.

Movie has come to mobile industry!

New i-pod has eventually came out last week !!!! I haven’t used i-pod series yet, but accordingly one can enjoy video as well as music. In Japan t is unknown how much you can enjoy TV program but soon it will be available. However there are problems that would stop increase popularity. It is that the amount of time you can play video continuously is very short, 2 hours to 3. As time passes, this would be solved in order to get more consumers. Watching movie has become thing that a person can enjoy outside home or theater. Playing DVD inside a car is more common and we can watch TV on a mobile phone. Then i-pod has enabled to see on the mobile music player. What would become the near future?

BBS

 What is BBS stand for?
Someone once told me, but I forgot what it means. I often use bbs when I open web pages.
I love bbs because I can see other people’s opinions and share feelings instantly toward the recent TV programs or CDs. I think bibs can give one amusement that can’t be gained through other ways. These days, many vicious users write slanders of famous people or write lies and diffuse uncertain information.Invitation for group suicides is a very serious problem about Internet in Japan. But still bbs is a convenient place to find online friends and enjoyable because you can share your favorite things even if they are minor among your school friends. You need to be careful the other users since you can’t look their faces and not to believe false information otherwise if you use bbs innocently you might be hurt.

Presents

Christmas is coming as autumn deepens and winter. Computer has become common in many parts of the world and several equipments which are used by connecting the hardware have been sold. Computer look cool if the person can operate without difficulty and I-pod or digital camera are popular these days. They are still expensive but I want to give different digital tools to my dear people if I have a chance.
First I want to give my mother a set of camera and microphone that can be connected with computer. They might b called as web-camera because a person can use it through the internet. Since I came to Tokyo this year, I’m communicating with my mother mostly by e-mail of my cellular phone and the desktop in my home in Kyoto. We can share text message and small photos, but it is not satisfactory for me as it takes time and photos have some limitations. In addition to that I’m going to abroad next summer, so I would be missing Japan, my family・・・in a new country. However if there is a camera and microphone in my laptop and the home computer, I can directly talk with my family and even my lovely dog! It is amazing!! I would ask my mother to bring her in front of the camera. Now I can’t hear her voice even when I calling my home because she remains silent when there is no stranger. Anyway, web camera may reduce some shocking of my family when I come back to Japan for example the hair color, pierce and something like that.
Next, I want to get a digital camera for one of my friends, who is in Illinois, the United States. Sometimes we sent short mails each other but I have never seen any pictures. The friend, Yuki is also a university student in America and her major is art. So, I want to see her works as well as pictures of her university or town friend or whatever. Digital camera has a great advantage which is a person can send the photos by e-mail or use in personal WebPages. It would be fun to experience virtually what friends who I rarely meet frequently are seeing.
Finally, I think these may be future desire, not for this Christmas, but they are wonderful hope that computer innovation has made it possible.

Computer and Me

In my elementary school, pupils who were in ore than fourth grade joined the school club which held once a week. I joined the computer club for a year because computer looked fascinating to me. But I just played computer game like catching persimmons and tetorisu. No one taught us about how to use a computer, so I didn’t know how I can type roman letters and shift to kanji. That experience has little meaning as I didn’t know what I could do with computer outside that room in my school.

After entering to junior high school in my town, I had a few opportunities to touch with computer in class. In the art class, our art teacher introduced us how to see the world’s great art works such as Michelangelo and Vincent van Gogh using Internet. As he controlled each computer by switching the main computer, most of the time I just watched his explanation on my computer screen. However, I had fun activity with computer just before the graduation. Also, in art class, we designed the seal to stick to our memorial CD’s surface which contained songs e sung in school chorus festival. We were allowed to design for each CD, so I made my original seal and jacket using computer software program.

In the April 2002, eventually the Windows desktop came to my home. I enjoyed surfing the Internet, sending e-mail, watching DVD, playing game, buying goods on Internet auction. Although I wasn’t taught how to use computer from someone, somehow I knew very basic thing and I used the PC with my instinct. PC especially Internet became my big entertainment tool and Information resource.

Since this April, I have needed to use computer to research or to type my assignments. In the first semester, I acquired typing skill through the practice in the class in computer room or library after class. Therefore I came to type much faster than the days when I typed with two fingers. Now I’m using laptop with card which allows me to connect the Internet (but the quality is not so good). Besides the homework, I often copy music CD into my computer and enjoy them, or watch DVD. As still I don7t know much about computer, I took computer class this semester and learning about it twice a week.
